Hand Therapy
The use of our hands is an essential part of everyday life. Small difficulties within the hand can cause major problems. Correct management requires precise diagnosis and accurate treatment.
The Hand Therapy Clinic at 30 Devonshire Street provides comprehensive, individually tailored treatment for hand and upper limb conditions.
As specialists in their field, all our therapists are registered with the British Association of Hand Therapists.
Close liaison occurs between therapists, the medical team and other professionals.
Who Do We See?
Our patients include athletes, artists, office workers, people with conditions such as arthritis, individuals who have experienced hand trauma or have had reconstructive surgery.
Hand Therapy can help with a range of conditions including:

Assessment:
The initial assessment usually takes about one hour and thorough medical and social histories are taken. Any relevant x-rays and scans should be brought so the therapist can develop a clearer picture.
Patient and therapist identify short and long term goals then plan a treatment programme. The patient's condition and progress are then continuously assessed and goals reviewed throughout following treatment sessions.
