The Equipment - Storz Modulith SLK
The Modulith SLK is the first world's truly interdisciplinary lithotripter adapting itself to specific treatment requirements. For the first time ever a shockwave source has been detached from its mechanical ties. The Modulith SLK has been designed so as to allow:
- Optimum choice of entrance window to be selected almost like a handheld transducer ensuring not only the best image quality but also perfect transmission of the shock waves adjusted to the patient's individual anatomy, thus allowing us to treat the most difficult stone presentations.
- High definition x-ray localisation incorporating the Lithotrack computer aided positioning system comprising of a stereoscopic camera, transmitter module integrated in the therapy head with processing and display module thus ensuring continuous accurate monitoring during treatment
- A cylindrical coil source with parabolic reflector offering unequalled energy range, stability and allows inline localisation whilst negating the need for electrode changes, wearing lenses and performance deterioration over time often associated with other Lithotripters available today.
